Pathfinder treasure values
Pathfinder Second Edition · Remaster
Give every piece in your hoard a place at the table. Look up coin values, count your bars and ingots, and choose what your gems represent.
None of our coins have denominations stamped on them. You and your DM decide what your treasure is worth. The values below are a starting point for your campaign.

Know your coins
Pathfinder uses copper, silver, gold and platinum. Silver is its standard unit of currency. Electrum is not part of the standard coin table; agree on a house value before using electrum props.
| One coin | Copper (CP) | Silver (SP) | Gold (GP) | Platinum (PP) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
Copper (CP) | 1 | 0.1 | 0.01 | 0.001 |
Silver (SP) | 10 | 1.0 | 0.1 | 0.01 |
Gold (GP) | 100 | 10.0 | 1.0 | 0.1 |
Platinum (PP) | 1000 | 100.0 | 10.0 | 1.0 |
02 · Mini Mint recommendation
Big treasure. Less counting.
With no fixed denominations on our coins, you can build a currency system that suits your campaign. Trade bars and ingots make larger amounts easy to recognise and hand out. For in-game treasure, we suggest 1 lb per trade bar and 5 lb per ingot, with each pound worth 50 coins of the same metal. That makes a gold trade bar worth 50 GP and a gold ingot worth 250 GP. Players and the DM can choose values to suit their campaign.
| Denomination | 1 coin | 1 trade bar 1 lb · 50 coins | 1 ingot 5 lb · 250 coins |
|---|---|---|---|
| Copper | 0.01 GP | 0.5 GP | 2.5 GP |
| Silver | 0.1 GP | 5.0 GP | 25.0 GP |
| Gold | 1.0 GP | 50.0 GP | 250.0 GP |
| Platinum | 10.0 GP | 500.0 GP | 2500.0 GP |
Using a fantasy metal or your own currency? Choose what one coin is worth, then scale your bars and ingots to suit.
03 · Choose your gem’s identity
A gem guide for your hoard
Use colour and cut to choose what each gem represents. The matches below give you a starting point; players and the DM can pick different identities and values to suit the adventure.
Pathfinder’s GM Core gives gems a range of values. Our quick picks use a roll of 2 on the listed d4. To roll your own value, multiply a four-sided die result by the amount in the reference column.
Finished gems exchange for their listed value; unworked gems use half that amount.

Using gems in your campaign
Choose a value, then record it. The same prop can stand for different treasure in different campaigns. Keep a short note with its identity and value so everyone uses the same convention.
Make the reward memorable. A handful of gems or a stack of trade bars can turn a coin total into treasure the party can divide at the table.
